Adjustment Bureau

I last posted about being in the flow for Novel #3. I stand by that, but with a major adjustment.  I'd been talking about the state of publishing with writer and blog maven, Heather Kelly. She helped me see that print and e-books can be complimentary. Yes, I hope for traditional print publication of ROMEO, ROMEO. And yes, once the book is in the stores, Amazon etc, we can simultaneously offer shorter e-books about secondary characters from the novel. Two tracks.

Here's the adjustment... I'm focusing on e-books for five secondary characters. ROMEO, ROMEO itself is done, its arch finished, I'm not touching it. But it's so much fun to be hanging out with those characters again.

How do you guys deal with adjustments?

  2. That's a great idea to focus on your secondary characters! Too often I read a book where a minor character is someone I really like and wonder about, so it's cool that you've giving your supporting cast a spotlight.

  4. Cool idea, Robert. And it sounds like you're way into writing these characters' stories so to me that's the sign that says "go for it" because you are writing what moves you!!

How do I deal with adjustments....hmmmm...I think I usually tread water for a while until deciding on the direction to take. :-) :-0 :-)

  5. I think that's a great idea -- fleshing out certain characters with their own stories. I wish you well!

  6. Thanks for the shout out. I sound so other worldly, or something. I'm glad you are thinking outside of the box. It's fun! I HOPE YOU ARE STILL QUERYING WIDELY.

  8. I think the idea of creating novellas for characters in a book is a great one. As a writer, it's also fun to take those characters to another level.

Love the title of your book!
